AXIS 360 Represents Buyer in $2.7M Acquisition of Former Jo-Ann Fabrics at Bloomington Commons; Aqua-Tots Swim School Planned
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (Feb. 25, 2026) — Meghan O’Neal-Rogozinski, CCIM and Mike O’Neal of AXIS 360 Commercial Real Estate Specialists represented the buyer in the acquisition of the former Jo-Ann Fabrics building at 1719 E. Empire St. in Bloomington Commons, Bloomington, Illinois. The property is 21,828 sq.ft. and sold for $2.7 million.
The buyer, Matt Unkovich, plans to redevelop the space with an Aqua-Tots Swim School, adding a family-focused service to one of Bloomington-Normal’s most active retail corridors along Empire Street.
In addition to the swim school plans, space remains available to lease within the building, and the property can also be positioned to retenant the entire building as a single-user opportunity, depending on a future occupant’s needs and buildout requirements.
